Bernie has more than 30 years of resource management planning experience across diverse projects and settings. As Wellington Planning Manager, he leads infrastructure and land development projects with a practical, solution-focused approach. His background includes policy development, consenting and environmental assessment and roles in both consultancy and regulatory bodies. 

Bernie has contributed planning expertise to major projects including Transmission Gully Motorway, Auckland’s ferry terminal relocation, large scale residential developments, plan changes and energy and utility infrastructure. He has also led strategic environmental and development projects in the UK, Middle East, and Africa. 

A clear communicator and trusted advisor, Bernie understands how to achieve successful outcomes under the Resource Management Act and related legislation. He brings a calm and collaborative style to multidisciplinary project teams and client relationships. 

Bernie is a Full Member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
